Collection Paralegal
Part Time – 29 hours per week; hours flexible; pleasant work environment, competitive pay
Provides daily support to collections attorney. Performs a variety of general administrative semi-routine clerical duties of moderate complexity, such as drafting legal forms, maintaining complex files, processing departmental documents, posting records, and typing correspondence and reports. Reviews and monitors credit sources, credit files, and documentation of delinquent accounts. Obtains required information from credit organizations, performs preliminary skip tracing efforts. Maintains records on delinquent accounts and incomplete files.
Minimum two years similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. Working knowledge of debt collection laws. Previous collection or law firm experience preferred. A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school. College degree or paralegal certificate preferred. Proficient in Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Typing speed minimum 55 wpm verified by Typing Certificate.
