Well, as you all know, we’re really big on education for industry professionals. I mean, it’s in our company values for crying out loud. So it’s only natural that we let you know about a conference that’s coming up this February that includes a whole lot of educating and networking opportunities. If you aren’t familiar with DBA International, here’s a little bio on them, pulled from their website;

DBA International is a non-profit trade association and the voice of the debt buying industry. DBA members work in a variety of financial services fields, and includes debt buyers, debt sellers, collection agencies and attorneys, and industry-related service providers. A source of experienced, knowledgeable and ethical debt buyers and other industry participants, DBA sets business conduct standards for the industry by requiring all members to accept and abide by a strict Code of Ethics.

Basically, if you work at an agency or firm with purchased paper, YOU SHOULD BE AT THIS CONFERENCE.    When I first got into the industry, I went to a DBA International to get my feet wet and meet some people. My boss thought it would be a good opportunity for me to be a part of it. Not only was it a great networking opportunity, but I got to talk to a lot of people about some of the challenges they were facing in their careers. This was five or six years ago, so I imagine now with all the changes that are taking place, there must be some great discussions happening on the exhibit floor and within the educational sessions.

   I highly recommend this to anyone in the industry, no matter what level you are in within your organization.
