Monday Motivation 09-01-2014
Going to work on Monday isn’t always a fan favorite so we’ve decided to begin a campaign on our blog to try to bring you some Monday Motivation. Every Monday we will be posting a quick paragraph or two discussing a certain topic, some advice for the collection week, occasional funny memes and hopefully getting you ready to start your work week. We know how important it is in collections to get your week started off right, no matter what position you are in. It’s not by chance that the saying goes … “I got a case of the Mondays”. So, tune in every Monday morning before work and get some of our Monday Motivation!
Although the first Monday Motivation post is falling on a Tuesday, and coincidentally this is due to the fact that Monday was Labor Day, you can expect to see these posts every Monday morning. But here’s a fun fact for you, did you know how Labor Day started in USA? On June 28, 1894, Congress passed a bill that designated the first Monday in September as an annual federal holiday to celebrate the social and economic achievements of American workers and their contributions to the strength and prosperity of the nation. So we hope you all enjoyed YOUR holiday and got some well deserved extra rest (or fun) that you may have needed.
September is always a tough month for the industry, with the month starting on a Federal Holiday, we lose a mail and bank day, not only that, but September only has 30 calendar days in it. With that being said, we only have 21 total posting days in September so every day matters. And… this month’s closeout is on Tuesday. Tuesdays are notoriously bad mail days, so make sure to get your PDCs and SIF payments in earlier in the month so you’re not waiting at EOM. Remember, every dollar counts, so even though you may be struggling to get in work mode today on this Terrible Tuesday, with Monday already behind us we need to get a jump start on the month. So try to keep your internet surfing to a minimum and jump on those phones or on whatever projects you have going, you’re gonna need to stay focused to have a great month!
